First impressions are important to any guest in our church, but nothing is more important to young families than knowing that their children are being cared for and taught in a safe environment. When parents drop their children off in a class room, the appearance of the room and the teacher should assure them that they are in a safe, and fun learning place.
In order to do this, we need your help. Shortly, you will be given the opportunity to sponsor the renovation of one of the rooms. The cost of renovations will vary by room but estimates are running from $5,000 - $7,000. As you can tell, there is a lot of work to be done. We already have a sponsor for the nursery, but there are four other rooms and a hallway that need work. Please pray about making a donation to this work in honor or memory of someone special in your life. Perhaps it could be someone who made it possible for you to know Jesus when you were a child.
Study of our role in God’s world. We believe that ‘worship’ happens wherever we gather to serve God. That could be Sunday morning in church but it is more likely to be wherever we meet to do God’s will. We serve God when ever we participate in mission projects, or fellowship at a water park or someone’s home. We can serve God when we study the Bible or the world around us. We serve God in the city or in the country. But wherever, whenever or however we serve God, we find joy.
This ministry is open to all women of the church and community. They meet at 5:30pm every second Tuesday of the month to study scripture, discuss missions, and fellowship together.
The Men meet on the third Tuesday of the month. The Methodist Men meet as needed to organize events and activities through the year. Each year they serve a pancake supper to raise money for missions they support. They cook the brisket for the Harvest Festival and serve at the Mother Daughter Banquet in February. Every year the United Methodist Men host a pancake supper to raise funds for their mission projects. Eat all the pancakes you want for only $6 for adults and $4 for children 8 and under. There will also be sausage, bacon, milk, juice and coffee to round off the meal. The whole community is invited and volunteers to serve and clean up are needed.
Let's Grow Learning Center is an extension of the Christian Education ministry of the First United Methodist Church, Gatesville, and provides competent and creative care in a Christian atmosphere for preschool children. This childcare ministry s a bridge between the child's home and the outside world, and all the time shall be devoted to providing positive educational opportunities for all children.
